Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking a passionate and experienced Patch Management Analyst to join Infrastructure Services on the Compute Security and Compliance Team. This is a technical, hands-on role that requires the ability to assess the patching needs and requirements of both Windows and Linux servers and manage operational dashboards and metric reporting. This role will support day-to-day management of assessing patching needs, scheduling, and applying required mitigations to the mixed server environment.

Qualifications:

    • Degree in computer science, technology, engineering or security-related field or equivalent experience
    • Minimum 2 years IT or security experience
    • Previous experience supporting vulnerability or patch management programs
    • Experience working with patch management tools
    • Understanding of OWASP common vulnerabilities and testing methodologies
    • Basic understanding of system security threats and vulnerabilities
    • Understanding and familiarity with different operating systems (e.g., Windows and LINUX/UNIX systems)
    • Knowledge of IT security / hardening best practices for operating systems, web applications, and network devices.
    • Experience building interactive dashboards and reports in PowerBI to visualize patching metrics to track the success of the patching program and provide operational stats and reporting
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools to organize, summarize, and interpret complex datasets.
    • Experience using Ivanti, RedHat Satellite, and Ansible in the context of patching is a major plus
    • Ability to effectively organize tasks, manage multiple priorities/details, meet schedules, and deliver on commitments 
    • Experience driving discussions and consensus across a broad group of stakeholders and cross functional teams regarding patching, security recommendations, and mitigations strategies
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills required
    • Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and with a team

Job Responsibilities:  

    • Support day-to-day operations of the server patch management program, including reviewing data, processing reports, escalating findings to key stakeholders, tracking remediation of patching deficiencies, and tuning data analytics and reporting  
    • Map known vulnerabilities and missing patches to asset inventory and key stakeholders
    • Manage and report on prioritization based on risk and policy definitions
    • Identify and recommend appropriate compensating controls to remediate and prevent future vulnerabilities in the server environment
    • Support development of vulnerability metrics and remediation-related dashboards and reports
    • Understand enterprise patching and vulnerability policies and advise policies
    • Coordinate with key business partners to understand, prioritize, and coordinate vulnerability remediation activities
    • Collaborate with peers from Computing Services and maintain excellent working relationships with key partners across Technology Organization functions and business partners
    • Understand business requirements and work with the team to define appropriate solutions, meeting both security mandates and business needs

    • Must pass Insider Threat Protection background checks
    • Occasional travel to local and regional locations in pursuit of job duties and requirements

The compensation range for this position is $40 to $50/hr W2  
(dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
