Duration: 12 Months (Possible extension)
Bring innovative visions to life as a Design Engineer, where creativity meets technical excellence in crafting exceptional user experiences. This pivotal role combines design prowess with engineering acumen to shape the future of consumer software interfaces, making you a key player in transforming concepts into polished, high-performance applications that captivate users and elevate brand standards.
What You’ll Do:
As a Design Engineer, you will partner with cross-functional teams—including product designers, engineers, and QA—to design and implement engaging UI and motion features across our platforms. Your expertise will ensure seamless interaction and animation, from initial concept validation to final deployment, setting new standards for usability and aesthetic appeal. You will own the intricate details that distinguish good design from extraordinary experiences—transitions, haptics, accessibility, and edge cases—while maintaining performance and platform conformity.
Required Skills:
- 6–10 years of experience developing production iOS interfaces with strong command of SwiftUI and UIKit, including interoperability within mature codebases
- Expert-level proficiency in animation and gesture APIs such as withAnimation, custom Animatable conformances, matchedGeometryEffect, and transitions in SwiftUI; UIViewPropertyAnimator, CADisplayLink, and gesture recognizers in UIKit
- Deep understanding of spring, physics-based motion, and gesture-driven interactions that track user input
- Robust design sensibility with the ability to interpret Figma comps or ambiguous design directions into refined UI elements, ensuring optimal spacing, typography, easing, and hierarchy
- Proficiency in prototyping within Xcode, Figma, or disposable code to rapidly validate concepts
- Comfortable working with AI-assisted workflows and “vibe coding” to accelerate prototyping and iteration
- Strong knowledge of Human Interface Guidelines and platform motion conventions
- Ability to profile and optimize performance using Instruments, managing rendering costs and ensuring responsiveness
- Excellent project management skills, adept at meeting deadlines across multiple projects
- A portfolio or history of shipped apps demonstrating interaction and animation expertise
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Metal or shader programming for custom visual effects
- 3D and RealityKit expertise, including visionOS
- Depth knowledge of Core Animation and Core Graphics for bespoke rendering
- Motion graphics background with tools like After Effects or Cinema 4D
- Accessibility engineering experience, including Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and Reduce Motion support
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Design, or related field
- Proven track record of delivering engaging, interaction-rich apps in a professional setting
Other requirements may include occasional travel or specialized certifications, depending on project scope.
If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of UI and motion design through engineering, and eager to craft impactful digital experiences, we encourage you to apply now and become a driving force behind innovative consumer software!
