Title: Lab Technician
Location: Goleta, CA – Onsite
Duration: 6 Months (Possible extension)

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and configure electronics including soldering, wire bonding, and mechanical assembly, as well as fridge wiring and networking test equipment.
  • Test assembled electrical and mechanical devices to validate proper assembly.
  • Gather data using testing procedures designed by electronics team engineers.
  • Support deployment and operation of technologies developed by the electronics team that serve the organization.
  • Help maintain organization and operation of lab test equipment and materials, including inventory.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as an electronics technician.
  • Experience performing electrical measurements.
  • Experience with electronics assembly techniques.

Preferred Experience:

  • Associate or higher degree in engineering, technology, or related fields.
  • Experience with sophisticated electronics test equipment such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with EM and circuit theory at the level of a first-year college electricity and magnetism course.
  • Experience with UNIX-based command-line interfaces.
  • Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot.
  • Ability to manually build and assemble electrical and mechanical devices involving soldering, wire-bonding, and other wiring form factors.
  • Knowledge and experience with common mechanical and electrical tools and units of measurement, e.g., multimeter, basic power supplies, calipers.
  • Proficiency with and ability to learn software programs such as Excel sheets and Keysight electronics equipment interfaces.
  • Ability to read schematics and follow documented operations procedures.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $0.00 to $41.73 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
