Senior SEO Strategy Consultant

Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite 5 Days per Week)
Duration: Contract through December 2026
Compensation: $70–80/hr W2

Overview

We are seeking a Senior SEO Strategy Consultant to serve as the enterprise voice of SEO across a large-scale digital ecosystem. This is a highly strategic, consultative role focused on influencing product, technology, and business decisions to protect and enhance organic search performance.

Rather than owning day-to-day SEO execution, you will partner across multiple teams to ensure that changes to digital experiences, platforms, and technologies support long-term search visibility and growth. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, marketing technology, and business stakeholders, requiring exceptional communication, influence, and relationship-building skills.

The ideal candidate is an experienced SEO leader who understands both the technical and business implications of digital change and can confidently guide enterprise stakeholders toward SEO-friendly decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary SEO advisor across the organization, partnering with product, engineering, marketing, and business teams to evaluate upcoming digital initiatives and experience changes.

  • Assess the potential SEO impact of new features, platform enhancements, integrations, and website updates before launch.

  • Translate complex technical SEO concepts into clear, actionable business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Partner with engineering teams to provide guidance and validation on SEO-related implementation efforts.

  • Influence product and technology roadmaps by identifying opportunities, risks, and requirements that support organic search performance.

  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding the search implications of technology, content, and platform changes.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews, ensuring SEO considerations are incorporated into delivery plans.

  • Support ongoing marketing technology and analytics initiatives, providing SEO guidance related to platform integrations and ecosystem changes.

  • Collaborate across teams to ensure enterprise-wide alignment on SEO best practices and digital search visibility goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Deep expertise in technical and enterprise SEO, including a strong understanding of how technology decisions impact organic search performance.

  • Experience operating within large, matrixed organizations where success is driven through influence rather than direct ownership.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience partnering closely with product managers, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with modern marketing technology and analytics platforms, including:

    • Braze

    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud

    • Adobe Analytics

  • Experience working within Agile product development environments.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and/or Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).

  • Exposure to cross-channel customer engagement programs, including email and SMS ecosystems.

  • Experience supporting large-scale platform migrations, martech transformations, or technology stack modernization initiatives.

  • Familiarity with enterprise SEO and analytics tools such as:

    • BrightEdge

    • Lumar

    • Google Search Console

    • Profound

    • Tableau

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Acts as a trusted advisor across the enterprise.

  • Influences decisions without direct ownership.

  • Bridges the gap between business priorities and technical requirements.

  • Identifies SEO risks before they become business problems.

  • Builds strong partnerships across product, engineering, and marketing teams.

  • Understands how evolving technologies and platform changes impact digital discoverability and search performance.

What This Role Is Not

  • Hands-on SEO execution or optimization.

  • Ownership of a standalone SEO roadmap.

  • A traditional Product Manager role.

  • Ownership of Agile ceremonies or engineering delivery.

This role is ideal for a strategic SEO leader who enjoys influencing enterprise decisions, shaping digital experiences, and ensuring search visibility remains a key consideration across a complex organization.

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $70 to $80/hr.  Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
