TITLE: Site Safety Manager
LOCATION: Openings in St. Louis, MO & E. Iowa (Onsite)
Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enforce safety policies, programs, and initiatives to mitigate risk and ensure equipment follows federal and state safety requirements.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to monitor site safety performance and adherence to OSHA, FMCSA, DOT and customer requirements.
  • Partner with Operations leadership and customer to integrate safety considerations into daily business practices and ensure preventive measures are identified and carried out.
  • Assess fleet readiness and inform Operations leadership of maintenance and repair needs.
  • Train and mentor site drivers, clerical staff, and management on safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Lead safety training programs, including FMCSA and OSHA compliance, hours of service, drug testing, equipment safety, and Hazmat awareness.
  • Lead work-related accident and incident investigations, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, vehicle accidents, complaints, and compliance activities, ensuring proper accident reporting to regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain safety databases and dashboards to track compliance, incidents, and key metrics, providing regular performance reports with actionable insights to Operations leadership.
  • Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to develop short and long-term safety strategies.
  • Be a leader by example and live our overall purpose and core values.

  • Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adaptability and resilience to change and continuous improvement.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, related field, or equivalent operational experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years of safety experience in the transportation/logistics industry required, including familiarity with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) protocols and practices, preferably within high-growth organizations.
  • CSS/CDS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state compliance regulations including FMCSA, OSHA, DOT, and state regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license (Commercial Class A is preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and safety management tools (Power BI, LYTX, Weather-Tomorrow IO, Salesforce).
  • Ability develop and communicate informative training sessions that are site specific.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varied work schedules and the ability to travel to support startup operations, attend team meetings, and complete site audits as necessary.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
  • Solutions oriented with intuitive critical thinking and leadership skills.
  • Strong ethical and integrity code.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well in a fast-paced/dynamic team environment.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
