Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Join Apple's innovative engineering team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of health features on Watch. As a key member of the Health Sensing team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining advanced test automation, building scalable testing infrastructures, and managing test labs with a variety of devices. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of sophisticated health features on next-generation hardware and watches, delivering meaningful and timely feedback to our development teams. Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as a SDET or Automation Engineer for software, firmware, or hardware projects
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies (unit, integration, performance, functional) and related tools, frameworks, and pipelines
- Experience diagnosing, triaging, and debugging complex hardware-software integrated systems
- Ability to identify automation needs and design scalable solutions
- Proven expertise in compiling and distributing detailed test reports
- Familiarity with telemetry-driven dashboards for production monitoring
- Experience managing test passes, releases, and updates
- Skilled in coordinating with contractors and managing deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience testing algorithms and health-regulated software
- Knowledge of digital signal processing and embedded device testing
- Capabilities in developing KPI dashboards
- Familiarity with Macintosh systems, Mac OS, or UNIX variants
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, documentation, and presentation skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering
- Over 5 years of professional experience in automation and quality engineering for hardware or software projects
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work closely with development and engineering teams
- Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic about high-quality, user-focused products
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $60.00 to $74.63 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
