Staff UX Designer

Location: Remote
Contract: W2 contract through January 2027
Pay Rate: $65–$70/hour
Experience: 7+ years of relevant UX/Product Design experience

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Staff UX Designer to join a product team working on complex digital experiences across in-store technology, payments, transactional workflows, and related product areas.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who can take a complex problem, understand the broader user and business needs, and own the design work from early exploration through detailed execution.

The ideal candidate is a true end-to-end designer who can think strategically while still being highly comfortable working directly in Figma, creating flows and prototypes, iterating on solutions, and partnering with Engineering through delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Own complex UX/product design initiatives from discovery and problem definition through design, validation, and implementation.

  • Translate complicated user, business, and operational requirements into intuitive product experiences.

  • Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI.

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and business stakeholders.

  • Use research, data, and customer insights to inform design decisions.

  • Navigate complex workflows, systems, business rules, and technical constraints.

  • Work within established design systems while identifying opportunities to improve or evolve existing patterns.

  • Present work and clearly communicate design rationale to stakeholders.

  • Incorporate feedback and rapidly iterate on concepts and solutions.

  • Partner with Engineering throughout implementation to maintain the quality and intent of the experience.

  • Explore opportunities to use AI and emerging tools to accelerate research, ideation, prototyping, and other parts of the design process.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of relevant UX/Product Design experience.

  • Strong end-to-end product design experience across complex digital products.

  • Highly hands-on experience with Figma and prototyping.

  • Ability to independently own complex design work while partnering with broader product leadership on strategy and direction.

  • Experience working closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams.

  • Strong systems thinking and ability to simplify complicated workflows.

  • Experience presenting work and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design fundamentals.

  • Experience working with established design systems.

  • Ability to work effectively within a large, complex organization.

Relevant Backgrounds

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be especially helpful:

  • Payments or payment processing

  • Financial or transactional products

  • Checkout or self-checkout

  • Retail or in-store technology

  • Associate-facing or operational applications

  • Enterprise platforms and complex workflows

  • E-commerce

  • Service design or cross-channel experiences

Direct payments experience is helpful, but not required. We're primarily looking for a strong Staff-level designer who can confidently take ownership of complex product work and drive it through execution.
