Mutual Funds Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Mutual Funds Specialist and play a pivotal role in supporting investor transactions and ensuring seamless account management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced financial environment, processing complex mutual fund transactions while providing exceptional service to shareholders. What You’ll Do:

  • Process new accounts, purchases, redemptions, exchanges, and ongoing account maintenance with accuracy and efficiency
  • Address shareholder inquiries via telephone, providing clear and professional investment information
  • Initiate and authorize financial transactions, ensuring timely and compliant processing
  • Calculate share trades, determine dividend distributions, reconcile accounts, and handle complex financial and non-financial transactions
  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and ethical standards
  • Support and mentor team members, contributing to a positive team environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and uphold risk management practices

Required Skills:

  • 2 to 4 years of post-high school education or equivalent work experience
  • Proven ability to perform all transaction types with minimal supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong mathematical, PC, and customer service abilities
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret diverse client and fund information
  • Attention to detail and exceptional reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic environment

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the securities and mutual fund industry, including terminology, rules, and regulations
  • Previous experience working within the industry or related educational background
  • Proficiency in mathematical and computer skills
  • Prior customer service experience handling complex client inquiries

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • A background in finance, economics, or related fields is advantageous
  • Industry experience or relevant post-secondary education preferred
  • Experience with mutual fund transactions and regulatory guidelines highly valued

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $10.58 to $26.58 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
