Benefits Manager
TITLE: Benefits Manager
LOCATION: Alpharetta, GA
Responsibilities:
- Own the Benefits function end-to-end for an approximately 6,000-employee, multi-state workforce
- Provide benefits strategy, decision-making, and recommendations based on organizational needs
- Manage and hold the benefits vendor accountable as a true strategic partner (day-to-day support handled by vendor)
- Proactively improve the benefits function rather than relying on vendors solely for compliance maintenance
- Oversee the company wellness platform and wellness initiatives, including planning programs to drive participation and engagement
- Communicate benefits information clearly and patiently to a frontline/driver population and across all levels of the organization
- Present recommendations and represent the Benefits function with executive presence in meetings and calls with leadership
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience owning benefits for a large, multi-state workforce
- Experience managing self-funded benefit plans
- Strong vendor and/or broker management experience
- Benefits compliance knowledge, including ACA filing/reporting experience
- Knowledge of LOA-related benefits and tax considerations
- Experience working with HRIS/benefits systems (e.g., UKG or comparable)
- Strong executive presence, including leading meetings and presenting recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits concepts to a broad and varied employee population.
- Ability to independently run and improve a Benefits function in a lean, fast-moving environment
- Comfortable making decisions independently and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
Preferred Experience:
- UKG experience (preferred; comparable HRIS experience acceptable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Passion for wellness and ideas for increasing employee engagement and participation
The compensation range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 per year (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
