Job Title: Principal Enterprise Service Designer 

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, Mon–Thurs) OR Remote but MUST work EST hours in US

Type: W2 Contract

Contract Duration: Initial 12-month term, with multi-year extension potential or conversion perm 

 

Overview:

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and strategically minded Principal Enterprise Service Designer to lead initiatives. This is a pivotal role that will shape both immediate product experiences and long-term user experience strategy, supporting ongoing platform consolidation efforts and the launch of enterprise-wide journey management initiatives.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact design solutions, mentoring IC designers, and helping mature the user experience practice in a critical business domain that connects analysts, merchandising, and supply chain operations.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Journey Mapping & Research Synthesis

Conduct journey mapping and create service blueprints that align with the organization’s broader journey management efforts.
Translate qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights that inform both tactical designs and long-term strategies.

2. UX Leadership & Mentorship

Lead UX efforts across the space while mentoring two IC-level designers.
Provide clear creative direction, foster collaboration, and uplift team members through influence, not authority.

3. UX Maturity Development

Champion UX maturity by introducing scalable processes, building strong partnerships, and embedding a user-first mindset across cross-functional teams.
Collaborate with the UX Manager to define priorities and deliver a cohesive experience vision.

4. Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain trusted relationships with leaders in Product, IT, and Business to understand their immediate needs and guide them toward longer-term UX strategies.
Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and design, helping articulate the value of UX in measurable, actionable terms.

 

 

 

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Required:

8–10+ years of enterprise UX or service design experience
Advanced proficiency in Figma for design and prototyping
Proven success designing complex tools or dashboards, ideally in enterprise or retail settings
Strong experience conducting and facilitating journey mapping and service blueprinting
High organizational savvy and stakeholder management expertise
Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and define problem spaces
Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and storytelling skills
Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority

 

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Senior Principal, UX
Close collaboration with: UX Manager
Mentorship responsibility: 2 IC-level UX Designers

 

 

 

Key UX Maturity Goals (in collaboration with UX Manager):

Foundational Partnerships: Build trust and strategic positioning with key stakeholders across Product, IT, and Business
Culture Building: Create a UX maturity plan, conduct UX education moments, and advocate a user-centric mindset
Operational Excellence: Implement journey mapping processes and uplift IC designers
Measurement & Storytelling: Establish frameworks for tracking experience improvements and showcasing UX impact through before-and-after narratives

 

 

 

 

 

If you're a design leader who’s comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also driving cross-functional change, this role offers the opportunity to lead transformational UX work within a highly visible enterprise initiative.

 

 

 

 

 

The hourly pay range for this position (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location) is $70 to $85/hr. Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k and commuter benefits.
